I'm just passing through...but I saw this headline and just had to say that this happens a lot more than one might suspect. My father-in-law (Marines) was stationed as a young man in Japan. He kept just a small amount for himself (enough to purchase a bike so he could see the country side...and he saved up for that instead of purchasing it with one paycheck)...the rest he sent home to his parents. He gave them instructions to use a certain % and to save a smaller % for him when he returned. Well, he returned to a total sum of nothing two years later.
Anyhooo...I have peeked at your blog before and have enjoyed the homeschooling aspect very much.
